Help me download and register my software to run on a Windows computer.

You can find step by step instructions with lots of pictures here.

Help me download and register my software to run on a handheld PDA

Locate the proper download link on the Downloads page (make sure you select the correct platform). When you click the link, your web browser will ask you whether you want to "Open" or "Run" the file, or "Save" the file. Choose "Run".

When the file is done downloading, an installation program will launch itself. On Palm OS handheld devices, you will see the Quick Install window with a file to be installed in the list. Just do a HotSync. For Windows Mobile devices, make sure your handheld is connected and follow the instructions given by the installer.

After syncronizing your handheld, run the software on your handheld, and click the Register button.

How do I get a (new) Key Code?

When you make a purchase, you will get a Key Code automatically, as long as you provided the correct "device name" (see below) on the order form. If your key code is not working, we need to know the "device name" that is displayed in the Register window before we can issue a new Key Code.

What is my "device name"?

A device name is a unique identifier for your computer or handheld. You can always find out what it is by running our demo software, then clicking the "Register" button. You will see the "device name" displayed there.

This name is the same as your Palm HotSync name, Pocket PC owner name, or a random ID on desktop computers.

What is the difference between a Palm and Pocket PC handheld device?

Both appear very similar on the outside, but are very different on the inside! You must purchase software for each type of device separately, just like you purchase Windows and Macintosh software separately. Most Palm compatible handhelds are manufactured by Palm, PalmOne, Sony, or Handspring. Pocket PC devices are also called "Windows Mobile", and most are manufactured by Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Dell, Toshiba.

Advantages of Palm compatible devices are: lower prices for low end models, longer battery life, more software available, and easier to operate. Advantages of Pocket PC devices: more "bells and whistles", more wireless networking choices. BOTH TYPES of devices can work with Word and Excel documents and sync with your Outlook email and contacts, although in limited ways.

Help me configure my ShiftCal schedule

The most common mistakes when setting up your shift schedule havge to do with the number of days per cycle, and the start dates. Please read these tips carefully and you won't have any problems. If you see an "!" on your calendar, you probably set these items incorrectly.

Start Date - You can't just choose any day you are working, or the first day you are working in a given month. You must choose the beginning of a shift cycle. For example, if you work a 3/4 schedule, you must choose a start date that is the first day back after 4 days off -- the beginning of your cycle.

# of days in shift cycle - Just remember that this should include ALL the days in a cycle, including the days off. For example, suppose you work the following schedule: "on/off/on/off/on/off/off/off/off". The correct number here is 9.
